Denton Dillies Name Shelby Pettit as General Manager

DENTON, TX — The Denton Dillies are proud to announce Shelby Pettit as the team’s General Manager, bringing a fresh perspective, strong leadership, and a passion for building something new to the organization’s inaugural season.

Pettit, a Dallas, Texas native, is currently a senior at the University of Mississippi and is set to graduate this May. She plans to pursue a master’s degree in sports analytics, combining her academic background with a lifelong passion for sports. Growing up, Pettit was a multi-sport athlete, participating in softball, track, and dance, experiences that shaped her competitive spirit and love for teamwork.

“I’m most excited about the opportunity to build this team from the ground up,” said Pettit. “Starting with a fresh slate creates so much potential for growth and brings a new level of energy and excitement heading into the season.”

As General Manager, Pettit will oversee all aspects of the Dillies’ operations, with a focus on establishing a strong foundation both on and off the field. She sees the team as part of a broader movement within summer collegiate baseball, one that introduces new ideas, fresh talent, and an engaging experience for fans.

“Fans can expect a new energy around collegiate summer baseball,” Pettit explained. “With a new league, new players, and new ideas, it’s an exciting time. We’re giving fans a chance to see talent they may not have been exposed to before, and that brings a whole new level of excitement to the summer.”

“This opportunity stood out to me because I get to be part of building something from the beginning,” she said. “I want to help make this team strong and successful in every way—on the field, in the community, and as an organization.”
